International Beer Day, Friday 4th August 2017
About International Beer Day
First celebrated in 2008, International Beer Day takes place on the first Friday in August. It is now celebrated in over 200 cities and countless towns and villages around the world. At the Red Lion, we'll be joining in too so, why not come along?
Drink Good Beer with Good Friends
Don't spend International Beer Day by yourself; get along to The Red Lion. Drinking beer may be the most important part of celebrating International Beer Day, but we know that beer goes best with conversation. So, gather your friends and get yourselves to The Red Lion, to make sure you have some camaraderie to go with your brews.
Give the Gift of Beer
It’s a well-known fact* that beer tastes better when someone else buys it for you. With this in mind, it’s a tradition on International Beer Day to buy beer for your friends. When you present the beer, don’t forget to say the traditional words of beer-giving:
“I give you
the gift of beer.”
By giving the gift of beer to your friends, and (hopefully) receiving the gift of beer in return, everyone’s beer becomes much more delicious. Try it and see!
Thank Your Brewer, Thank Your Bartender
On International Beer Day, it’s important to let your bartenders and brewers know just how much you appreciate their hard work, week in, week out. Leave a tip, send a tweet, or just say thanks, but please let your brewers and bartenders know that you love them.
On Friday, we'll be tweeting our thanks to our brewers and we'll also be running a few polls so, please join in and cast your votes.
Follow us @RedLionEarlston to join in the fun.
We'll be posting photos on our Facebook Page, and hope you will too.
