The Tour of Britain is coming to the Scottish Borders
On Sunday 3rd September 2017, the first stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain cycle race will be passing through the Scottish Borders and the team at The Red Lion will be here all day serving food and drink. With plenty of free parking in the centre of Earlton, we're the perfect place to come for an energy boosting meal and a refreshing, thrist-quenching drink.
The Tour starts in Edinburgh on Sunday morning and the teams will race through East Lothian before entering the Scottish Borders, going through Duns, Coldstream (where there is a sprint) and Kelso, before a King of the Mountain points race at the top of Scott’s View (expected between 2pm and 3pm). The peloton will then pass Melrose (for another sprint) and a further point-scoring climb up Dingleton Hill, before heading back to Kelso for the finish.
